So why wouldn’t we address the direct impact we make on our adventures, on our climate, on our planet?
We all feel that sense of responsibility when we spend time and money keeping our vehicle going. Respecting heritage and preserving something beautiful and worthwhile for the next generation.
This is simply the next logical step.

ChromeCarbon is a reforestation and climate actions program by and for automotive enthusiasts and motoring adventurers.
ChromeCarbon is about enjoying our passion honestly by facing up to our responsibility and preventing more CO2 from entering the atmosphere than what our vehicles emit.
It is about repairing, restoring and preserving not only our machines, but also our environment. Both protected and celebrated for future generations.
Chrome Carbon is as simple as 1, 2, 3.
First simply estimate the CO2 your vehicle(s) produce by selecting your vehicle type and the desired mileage to offset into our calculator. Second, register with us monthly or as a one-off contribution.
And third, enjoy your passion knowing you’re actively helping the planet by funding successful reforestation initiatives and carbon reduction projects.
At Chrome Carbon we are on a mission to make fighting climate change simple and affordable for automotive enthusiasts and motorised adventurers. We want everyone to be able to participate whether you drive a moped or a 1971 7.0l 426 Plymouth Hemi’ Cuda (oh yeah!). Check our calculator to find out more about what does it cost.
Four times a year, we publish our investment receipts (accessible from the “Transparency” section of the “About” page, here). These figures are shown relative to the pledge made by all Chrome Carboneers at the time of the investment. So you can easily verify that the commitments have been respected.
Planting billions of trees across the world is one of the most impactful and affordable ways of taking CO2 out of the atmosphere to tackle the climate crisis, according to scientists.
A mature tree absorbs carbon dioxide at a rate of 21 kg or 48 pounds per year, while producing 118kg or 260 pounds of oxygen over the same period. In a typical forest with 200 trees per acre, one acre absorbs 4.4 tonnes or 9,600 pounds of carbon dioxide and produces 23.6 tonnes or 52,000 pounds of oxygen every year.
Of course these are just the raw figures. Planting forests is very complicated. The right diversity of species must be planted in the right locations, and the local populations need to be incentivised to take care of them.
This is why Chrome Carbon partners with organisations working closely with national forest agencies, local forest experts and farmers. Making sure that the right trees are planted and looked after in the most relevant locations.
Chrome Carbon also supports partners investing in agroforestry. Agroforestry is a land use management system in which trees are grown around or among crops or pastureland. This intentional combination of agriculture and forestry has varied benefits, including increased biodiversity and reduced erosion. Plus it values the trees in the local economies. Making sure trees are taken care of in even the most remote locations.
The short answer is no.
At Chrome Carbon, we value our road trips and take immeasurable pleasure from driving our cars and riding our bikes. We get the best out of every mile, because we know that each of them take a small toll on the planet.
We believe that offsetting and planting trees goes hand in hand with an ambitious reduction of our personal carbon footprint beyond our vehicle’s emissions. Chrome Carbon’s offset and reforestation programme focuses on unavoidable tailpipe emissions. For the rest of our carbon impact, we believe that it is our responsibility to change how we consume and how we live.
Plenty can be done, and as a member of Chrome Carbon, you will always have access to facts, information and findings. So you can make more informed decisions on how to reduce your broader carbon footprint.
Yes. We know what it is. We can’t help it either. A collection starts with one but often grows to more. You can have as many subscriptions as vehicles you have. Simply repeat the process for each vehicle whose emissions you wish to offset.
Yes, you can cancel your subscription at any time. All your subscriptions are manageable individually from your account. Meaning you can cancel a subscription for a vehicle you’ve sold for example. Or you can add a new subscription for a new vehicle you just bought. And you can also pause a subscription for a vehicle you temporarily get off the road.
